I spent a big part of today looking at my calendar for the next month or so and thought about the bachelorette parties and weddings I am set to attend before 2010 is a wrap… So, for today’s throwback video of the week, I decided to post a bachelorette party I covered for Deco Drive…that took place at Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour! In this very unique girlie bash for my dear friend Arlyn took place more than 2 years ago and it was a night to remember!! I can’t tell you what happened after the camera stopped rolling, but it was lots of good times!! Take a peek…
And here’s a bonus – some of my favorite pictures from that weekend, circa June 2008!
After some procrastination and a re-shoot…my newest edition of On The Flipside is online! The location for this show is at the Santa Monica Pier, and my cousin Marie helped me get it done. This episode feature “The Summer Groove” hosted by Zo and Dwade at the Seminole Hard Rock, WBC Champ Andre Berto and his Maserati as well as DJ Irie’s “Irie Weekend” and San Francisco Gold Rush dancer Chris! Watch it and all the other episodes at http://ontheflipsidetv.com
The good folks at PNOY Apparel have developed and are releasing a very special jacket called “The Veterano.” I applaud their dedication and commitment to not only educate, pay tribute and honor the heroes of our (Filipino) heritage, but they also give back! Bravo… Both my grandfathers were among the 250,000 Philippine soldiers who marched and fought alongside the Americans against the Japanese during WWII, so although gone, they are not forgotten.
The Veterano jacket by PNOY Apparel is honoring the 250,000 Filipino American veterans who fought side by side their American counterparts without compensation or recognition. ONLY after almost 70 years, the Stimulus Plan hands out $15K to those who became U.S. Citizens and $9K to non-citizens veterans for their duty, a small reward for a life’s worth.
PNOY Apparel wants to help with proceeds of The Veterano to be donated to JFAV (Justice for Filipino American Veterans) to help our dying heroes.

It’s time for my “Throwback segment of the week!” I shot this segment during my first trip to the Bahamas and Atlantis… It’s probably one of the most entertaining and amusing stories I have ever done. And — for this shot I actually got in the water with Spotted Eagle Rays (yes, that’s a type of string ray) to feed them…and basically they were very ‘friendly’ with me! ha
Watch the video for my now famous line “..he’s biting my butt…” lol
FYI..I had to put on this super tight wet suit before I could do the “feeding” and that in itself was an event…those things are TIGHT!
Maker’s Mark launched its FIRST new product EVER, Maker’s 46 in South Florida last night!
Maker’s Mark enjoyed a successful launch event at Fort Lauderdale’s Yolo Restaurant & Lounge in Fort Lauderdale on July 19, 2010. The bourbon brand brought its first-ever new product to the South Florida market with a tasting event attended by local tastemakers and members of the media. Those in attendance were treated to a variety of cocktails mixed with Maker’s 46, as well as exclusive Marker’s Mark glasses, dipped to mimic the Maker’s 46 red, hand-dipped bottles. The Maker’s Mark Brand Ambassador was also on hand to provide event attendants with an education about this brand new, exciting bourbon.
Only 25,000 cases of Maker’s 46 will be shipped by the distillery this year, and South Florida is one of the lucky markets to receive part of the first batch.
I don’treally hang out in Fort Lauderdale all that often, but Yolo’s on Las Olas is a nice spot and the food was yummy!
I hit the red carpet at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino this past weekend for The Summer Groove “Comedy Jam.”
The annual event is hosted by Alonzo Mourning and Dwyane Wade…
DWade hit the carpet with Gaby Union … a first public appearance as a couple!
*Note I was the first to “tweet” it! 🙂
AND – Boston Celtic Rajon Rondo came through for his very first “Summer Groove!”
The Comedy Jam is highlighted by a who’s who list of comedians…here’s a shot of Gary Owen who made a back to back appearance coming off his performance from last year’s event.
Look out for all the video highlights and interviews coming soon On The Flipside!
My latest accomplishment has been getting forevermillz.com designed, up and running and it’s here! YAY!! Thanks to RJ – http://romuloaguliar.com and Christian – http://christiannicolas.com/ for their technical and design help. The site is the official home of Young Money rapper Jae Millz…it’s still a work in progress, as I’ll be building out the pages and adding posts as we go along, but you get the jist of my newest creation!
This week’s throwback was one of my very first segments I put together for Deco Drive! I profiled a group of gals who specialize in Vintage and 40’s style Pin Up photography, makeup, styling, etc… and they did a transformation on me too!
It was SO MUCH fun and I even got some very cute shots out of it!! 🙂
