CHOREOGRAPHERS

Our choreographers are top alumni and directors of dance and cheer teams in the NFL, NBA, AFL, MLB and other sports leagues. They will teach 6 sidelines and 2 routines in length of 45-60 seconds.

**Kristin Medwick, 7 year NFL Cheerleader – Oakland, “Dancer of the Year” 1998; “Raiderette of the Year” and Pro Bowl Cheerleader 2005

**Chris Rhyu, NFL Cheerleader – San Francisco

PRESENTERS

**Faithe David, former 49ers Cheerleader will be giving awesome dance technique class to help candidates put their best foot forward at auditions.
**Jada Law, former NBA dancer in Sacramento and LA and current TV personality & host for Lakers TV will give a fitness/health/nutrition presentation to get candidates ready for auditions.
**Audrey Asistio, an alum of the San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush and Gold Rush Ambassador now works for a news station as a reporter/fill-in anchor. Audrey will offer participants interview, attire, and overall presentation tips.
**Mindy Kreis, Director of Crunch Fitness will be knocking our socks off with a specialized bootcamp geared specifically to dancers.

Reunion RECAP and VIDEO

I wanted to share some of the VIDEO highlights produced by On The Flipside (aka me), for the Pro Football Cheer Alumni Reunion in Vegas! It was a fabulous event and a huge success, being the inaugural year. I met some amazing women who are both inspiring and empowering… I just KNOW this event will grow by leaps and bounds with each year, so I hope all the ladies who can claim the “elite” status of having cheered on the NFL sidelines will consider joining us next time around! As NFL Cheer Alumni we can be such a powerful group affecting change…and of course we make great girlfriends and memories.

Pro Football Cheer Alumni Reunion

AMAZING weekend in Vegas with FABULOUS women representing most of the NFL teams and several eras of Pro Football!! I’m so glad I can say I was part of the inaugural..and this “association” is only going to grow bigger and bigger every year… a collection of a very elite group of women!

“On The Flipside” I created the opening slideshow (above) with photos showcasing many of the attendees in their “cheering” days – I’ll be editing a highlight reel with video from the event very soon… In the meantime, below are some of the unofficial event photos! Such a GREAT, inspiring and empowering weekend filled with lots of new “sisters!”

Me + My Girlfriends

Last weekend’s adventure also including lots of time with me and my girlfriends..I didn’t get to see them ALL (Kimi), but everyone else came out to play, including Cat from Jax and Gaby from PHX! It also happened to be Irie Weekend as in DJ Irie…so lots of fun festivities going on…. My first stop was to see the Shelton’s and baby Darion!! I think his picture says it all…SIMPLY ADORABLE!!

Look at how he gazes at his Auntie Aubrey with those big blue eyes… *sigh* He is a living cabbage patch doll!!

Then, later that night….I hit up Miami Beach and the Crown Royal Black Lounge at Mokai with Riza, where we met up with the Lady Dana!

Friday I attended the Irie Weekend Golf Tourney to shoot some interviews and footage for On The Flipside …

Friday night we LIV-ed it up…with DJ Irie and friends…

DJ Irie had one helluva party with lots of star power LIV-ing with the best of em….

The best part was when Irie was “on stage” with Flo Rida..so fun to WATCH him have fun..great vibe and atmosphere!!

Saturday I brunched on Ocean Drive with the girls…

And — I left the “Wet Willie’s” to Cat and Gabs!

When Sunday rolled around, we were close to running on empty..but we managed to get it in one last time at LIV!!

Mind you it was really only about getting dressed up so I could rock the fabulous feather earring you see me wearing in the picture..Gaby spotted ‘em for me, and well, I was destined to have the earrings!

On another note…I learned oh SO MANY things from my friends this weekend, Blumpkin via Cat, Crippled Sparrow via Cherisse…but nothing could top Gaby’s “Cat Daddy” dance! She even shared this video with me of her dancing the dance….it’s dark and you have to turn your head to the side to watch…but you get the picture…enjoy!!

Wedding of the Year

I headed back to my Miami stomping grounds this past weekend to take care of a few things and attend the “Wedding of the Year!” Where do I start?? First of all, Donovan and Jessica are a beautiful couple and they mirror each other as far as the guy/girl versions of themselves…so I was so excited to be invited to their wedding. And, I was thinking that because Donovan started working at WSVN, shortly after I arrived…and I introduced him to Johanna, when we all went out one night…and Johanna is BFF with Jessica… So, IF he technically met Jessica through Johanna..does that mean I’m THE ONE responsible for their paths crossing!!?!? Okay, maybe it’s a stretch, but I will take credit!

The ceremony was held at the Grand Beach Hotel on Miami Beach overlooking the ocean and the bridal party was pretty large, consisting of 12 bridesmaids and 12 groomsmen! The bride wore a beautiful ivory colored gown, which was designed and made by her mother…AMAZING! The clouds did look ominous for a while, but the weather held out, and despite being whipped by the wind, it was a flawless ceremony.

For the reception, we moved next door to the Miami Beach Resort into a beautiful multi-level ballroom with a huge dance floor in the center of the room. I had never even really noticed this hotel existed or even thought to go in, but the reception room was so elegant and perfect. They had comedian Benji Brown emcee (so you know it was laughs) and Prince Markie Dee held it down on the 1’s and 2’s….

So, one of my most favorite things about this event was the photo booth! The lighting was just so fabulous I had to go in 1, 2 , 3 …okay A LOT!! First with my Deco Drive partner in crime, Odette… then my 400 Life fam – Darrin and Adam….

… and again with the “table 10″ TV ladies – Lisa, Constance, Rene and ME!!

Our table was seated right next to the photo booth too….so that made it convenient! haha

And — here’s a pic of me and (bridesmaid) Johanna…remember my theory above!!? LOL

All in all…WEDDING OF THE CENTURY, but I didn’t expect anything less than fabulous from a couple who did a “music video” for their save the date!!

BLISS

I’ve been a witness to BLISS. Last weekend I saw one of my dearest friend’s marry the man of her dreams and it was an amazing event to be a part of…

It was actually pretty eventful for me to get to the venue, because at the very time I needed to cross the Bay Bridge, it was basically shut down because of a person who was threatening to JUMP! Needless to say I sat in traffic for more than an hour, and when I finally could, I turned around, backtracked to take the San Mateo Bridge across the Bay! So, come hell or high water..I MADE IT to Half Moon Bay..I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

For the dinner seating they did a movie theme…of course the happy couple was the “main attraction” with their self-titled flick “Lovers on the Run” ….SO CUTE! I sat at “10 Things I Hate About You.”

My homegirl Norma was me plus 1 and she met me there, and well, we took lotsa pics!

The entire event was so intimate and cozy, with just enough touches, beautifully understated! They also had a FUN photo booth with props… Norma and I couldn’t resist to snap few shots…

Norma loved the Chevy’s sombrero…. and check us as the Jabbawockeez”

MIA Girl

Friday night I had the opportunity to be a judge for the MIA Girl Model Contest in downtown Miami. Hundreds of women submitted their photos online and the field was narrowed down to 30 for a night of pageantry at MIA Biscayne.

Below I’m pictured with Tito Puente Jr. and Esther Dollar.

Judges included: Alicia Faccio, Miss Latina International Esther Dollar, Modeling Agent Nicole Shelley, Director Mujer Magazine Karla Chavez, Latin Grammy winner Jorge Moreno, Editor of Venue Magazine Herman Echevarria Jr., Former Mr. USA 2010 Dr. Ivan Rusilko, Fashion Marketing Director for Cigar Snob Magazine Ivan Ocampo, Eyewonder CEO & Founder John Vincent and recording artist Tito Puente Jr.

This year’s winner received $10k to represent MIA Biscayne for the next year and make appearances at several events as well as participate with a different charity every month! She has also been invited to attend my South Florida Pro Dance Convention next Sunday, February 27, 2011 at FitSource, so she will learn all the skills she needs to be well-prepared for the year ahead as “MIA Girl!” And — here she is…

OG X ANJELAH

One of my favorite things to do is be a “connector.” By connector I mean putting people together who can collaborate or help each other. I want all my friends to be friends… if I have one person over here who can help another person over here…well why not?? So, last year during my travels to Austin, TX, I got a chance to become even more familiar and acquainted with a talented photographer OG. He’s done lots of music and hip hop photo projects, even getting his work published in Jay-Z’s book Decoded. At any rate, I knew my good friend Anjelah would be traveling to TX for different stints at the comedy clubs there and I pitched the idea for him to document her work and shows as a comedienne, similar to how he does for (music) artists… Well, when Anj got on board it was a GO and the result is a beautiful series of images that give you a glimpse into a day in the life of Anjelah Johnson. MIAMI – Pro Cheer and Dance Workshop

I am often asked and approached by women who are interested in joining the ranks of “pro” cheerleaders and dancers in the NFL and NBA. The problem is there aren’t always a lot of resources around to accurately prepare a candidate for the audition process, not to mention the choreography style, hair/makeup, fitness, attire and the interview process that are also a part of the road to Going Pro!

So, I am excited to announce that I am coordinating a “Miami Pro Dance Convention” for Going Pro Entertainment! The event takes place Sunday, February 27, 2011 at FitSource in North Miami. The are 2 separate sessions, AM and PM…and each has its own unique routines and presenters. I have some amazing choreographers and presenters on deck for the event and I know it’ll be a huge success. The agenda includes NFL and NBA style choreography, informative Q&A, as well as gift bags!

I just edited my final episode of On The Flipside for 2010! It’s been another great year, slowed down a bit, but definitely had fun putting all this great content together and thankful for everyone who helps me get it done!! On this episode, I used the American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami as my backdrop (hence 305) and we’ve got highlights from Juwan Howard’s “Juice Foundation” fashion show launch, the ribbon-cutting for Baltimore Ravens Ray Lewis new real estate endeavor, then the Miami Dolphins have gone to the dogs! Actually some of the players posed with their dogs for a (charity) calendar… plus we go to the Sucka Free to profile 49ers Gold Rush member Jasmin… Press play below!!
