The things we do for beauty… Well, I recently had an opportunity to get my lashes “extended” by Novalash! I love eyelashes and the idea of “lashing out” with extensions was too exciting to pass up, so as you can see, I went “under.”

The process was actually pretty relaxing, I just had to keep my eyes closed for about 2 hours, and they said it was okay for me to fall asleep. What they’re basically doing is “extending” you natural lash with a synthetic one….so they attach them to the ones you have, and you can pick how thick or thin you want to go! They will last about 60 days – a normal cycle for your lashes, but you can get them “filled” every four weeks if you choose to keep them up!

All in all, it was an easy process, it didn’t hurt and the results are amazing, I look like I have mascara on all the time! There are some precautions though to make sure they last and stay intact, like you have to use non-glycol makeup remover and there’s also special eyeliner and mascara that Novalash carries to compliment the extensions. So far, I have been very careful to properly maintain my added “beauty!”

And — when it’s all done, voila!! An instant eye-opener, that makes you feel better about going (eye) makeup free!! Here’s a picture of me post-Novalash with Michelle of “Let’s Talk Makeup.” She did my lashes and is also an instructor for Novalash!

I finally finished editing a new episode of On The Flipside!! I shot the intros and wraps on location during a trip to NYC a few weeks back. I’ve definitely been bogged down with other projects and priorities, but I didn’t want to neglect my passion project too much. I’m trying to at least do 1 a month depending on what I have going on!! Anyway, this new show features an exclusive with NBA star turned rapper, the LA Lakers Ron Artest, performing in Hollywood at Highlands Club with the Slam Girls. I also catch up with (my favorite) the Oakland Raiderettes for their annual calendar release party, then there’s highlights from retired NFL player Fred Taylor’s foundation launch event and an interview with Olympic Gymnast Nastia Liukin about her new “Super Girl” clothing line at JC Penney! I am so excited about my newest piece of jewelry, that I had to share it with everyone! JenLove Jewelry made me my very own Charm Bracelet, and not just any charm bracelet, but one laced with lots of LUCK!!

When she approached me over the summer about what type of charms I might like on my bracelet, I thought I can always use a little “luck.” Well, she outdid herself with this silver bracelet adorned with clovers, hearts & horseshoes…and I love the “key to my heart” to which there is also a lock! The lavender flower is a great accent as well to highlight all the purple, blue and green tones of the other jewels and beads.

I’m so excited to travel with my all-NEW Samsonite luggage!! My old set got replaced and now I’ve got a new set of “spinners.” I do travel a lot and my bags do get pretty beat up, so I’m happy to be stylin’ again with new bags. Thanks to Body Mind Travel in South Beach.

It was super HOT when we trampled through downtown Austin searching for different backdrops, but I don’t think you can really tell the heat index in the pix!

Here’s a quick Labor Day Weekend 2010 recap. I kept it pretty low key…it started out with a trip to Chi-town for work, then I stayed an extra day to hang out in the windy city and catch up with my good friend Jess.

First up was a pink bus..that was the location for my story shoot…cute, right? What child would not want a part of this??

Then, I took the Metra to Union Station in Chicago to get up with Jess. It was her sister’s bday, so we grubbed on some Filipino food before going to the opening of her nephew’s new restaurant, Chikazawa.

The next day we went shopping in downtown, well actually it was just walking around and then we went by Akira and they were having a buy 2 pairs, get THREE pairs free sale! Serious?? So, that was too good to pass up…needless to say, I walked out with 3, she got 2! We both got this pair below..funky, right? **note – even though the photo would make more sense rotated, that is my foot hanging off the armrest of a chair!**

It was a nice and relaxing in the Chi…we finished the night by heading out to the Icon movie theater where we had “VIP” seating and treatment when we went to see “The American.” Shouts to Mike over there for really taking care of us and hooking it up…drinks, food, dessert, strawberries…AND post-movie he gave us a bottle of champagne! Remember — this is at a movie theater! Wow.

I came back to rain in Miami, but that’s just how it is this time of year… and I did something I really don’t do anymore…go out in Miami Beach! I stepped out to DREAM Saturday night for Jae Millz (Miami) Birthday celebration…and it was a lot of fun!

The rest of the weekend was pretty much spent sleeping…and now, back to the grind!

My newest episode of On The Flipside is fresh off a Final Cut render! I’ve spent pretty much all of August in Austin, TX, so why not shoot an episode there as my “backdrop” location!!? For this edition I changed up the graphics a little and had to do subtitles… See the highlights from Nike and Converse’s (inaugural) World Basketball Festival in NYC. Jay-Z performed at Radio City Music Hall, LeBron James hosted kids in Harlem, USA Basketball had an exhibition and NBA players from France, China, Brazil and Puerto Rico all chimed in, in their native language…hence the subtitles! Then we’ve got Matt Barnes doing his annual camp at EA Sports, Golden State Warriors Rookie Ekpe Udoh and CGL Sports Yacht Celebration in Miami, plus a behind the scenes look at the Jacksonville photo shoot for Sweethearts for Soldiers! http://ontheflipsidetv.com/austin/
