Valentine’s Day

I went to an early “Valentine’s Day” screening last night with my comadre Gabriela who was still in town visiting with me from the Super Bowl festivities…so we’ll do my take and then hers…

Aubrey says – I thought it was ‘good’…I think I was expecting more with the “star power” of Julia Roberts, Patrick Dempsey, Jamie Foxx, Jessica Alba, Ashton Kutcher, George Lopez, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel, Anne Hathaway, Bradley Cooper, etc… It was a lot of little story lines meshed into one with the central theme being love and having a Valentine… and while it could be a nice date movie, it was pretty regular and they could’ve cut out a few of the “stories.” The only story liek that pulled at my heart strings was the one involving Julia Roberts character, other than that I didn’t get too much of THAT lovin’ feelin.’

Gaby says – I’d say it’s a cute movie…going into it, I thought it was going to be a tear-jerker, but it turned out to be more of a comedy and something that’d be nice for a first date. There was one really hot guy in the movie who played a love-frustrated football player, so he was easy on the eyes, until his story took a turn. My daughter was a little upset that I watched it without her, but I’ll still take her to see it. **Note – Gaby did not cry during “Marley and Me.”
