Magna Carta Holy Grail

I may be a little late, as this video debuted last week…BUT better late than never!! It’s hard to get “excited” about new hip hop music these days…but I’m definitely looking forward to Jay Z and friends latest project. And — it’s so refreshing to see the artists that I grew up on in the 90’s still doing the DAMN thing!! Okay, so I’m not exactly their age (I’m slightly younger), but it’s definitely my generation’s artists and music!! I fully expect the release to be nothing short of epic, created by hip hop’s royalty elite….

JAY Z’s new album “Magna Carta Holy Grail” comes to Samsung Galaxy fans first. Be among the first million to download the app on June 24th and get the album free July 4th, three days before the rest of the world. Learn more: http://magnacartaholygrail.com

Jay Z takes NYC Subway Train

I love this!! Jay Z aka Jigga took the NYC Subway “R” Train to the brand new Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn for his final show there. Either he’s had it with gas prices, is going green or maybe he didn’t want to deal with traffic! j/k…ha! Seriously, I respect that he isn’t “too cool” to hop on the Subway and it just goes to show that EVERYONE can use public transportation… Although it’s obviously not the “safest” thing since he attracts so much attention and people get all “paparazzi” and lose their minds!! Check it in the video…

Yacht Party

Earlier this week I enjoyed a Girls Night Out (GNO) with my Miami ladies…aboard the Venetian Lady!

Yep, despite the stormy Miami weather, we partied on a boat!

The occasion…to celebrate the birthday’s of Angela Simmons and Serge Ibaka.

I don’t personally know either, but I received an invite from my friend, who is also Serge’s publicist!

What can I say, it was a spontaneous night out and GOOD TIMES! Seen on the scene were Serge’s OKC teammate Kevin Durant, also Keri Hilson who led the “Happy Birthday” serenade….and Jeezy was spotted among the guests too. And — did I mention the bday cake was super yummy, I had 2 slices!! πŸ™‚

Flashback: American Idol “Connects”

So with the 2012 American Idol finale airing tonight…I got to thinking, do I have any connections to Idol?? People often ask me what are the coolest interviews I’ve done and who’ve been the most interesting (celebs) I’ve met…and honestly, most of the time I don’t have a great answer. Anyway, I do believe when I spent a week freelancing for E! News, Ryan Seacrest may’ve tossed to my segment…and I was a former pro NBA dancer, so that connects me to Paula Abdul (I know, reaching). However, when it comes to the current judges, I’m bringing it back to the 2007 archives!! I have nothing to tie me into JLo, except that I live in Miami and she had/has a place here too?? LOL But when it comes to the 2 dudes on the panel I found legit connects!! Like, this LIVE interview I did on Deco Drive with Steven Tyler and Richie Supa at the Seminole Hard Rock >> press play!

That was long before Steven’s AI judge days… Then, I found some pictures, also from 2007 when I celebrated my birthday at Cameo nightclub on Miami Beach! Sitting in the VIP booth adjacent to ours was none other than Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson. I can’t quite recall I if actually took pictures with them, but I did find these photos from the night…

Me with a couple of my Deco Drivers … Simon hanging out “next door,” and this one with Randy in the booth with DJ Irie. It was cool…but after a while we wanted Randy to stop DJ-ing because he was playing a bunch of Paula’s songs (if I remember clearly) and it was killing the vibe! haha Ah, the memories!!

Nonetheless, kinda fun to do this flashback and take a trip down memory lane!! Tonight me and my sis, bologna, are pulling for Jessica Sanchez to be our Idol…represent girl!! #TeamJay

IMMORTAL

I was fortunate enough to catch this show as it passed through Miami last weekend…and not only did it exceed my expectations, but it provided me with a great evening filled with music and dance!! I would have to say I’m not a “cirque” person. I’ve been to a couple shows and I’m just not THAT into acro and contortionists, etc.. I mean I can appreciate it for 30 min, but not for 2 hours! LOL So, I was weary of how the MJ-themed cirque show would fare in my mind… Well, I was BLOWN AWAY! From start to finish, the music made me feel good and helped me to “Remember the Time” and reminisce about all the great memories I associate with Michael Jackson and his music – a 3rd grade slumber party where we watched “Thriller” over and over, or how my Grandfather purchased me my own “glove,” and dancing around to his music at family parties with my cousins… πŸ™‚

The stage is AHHHHHMMMMAAAAAAZZZZZING!! From the use of big screens, LED lights, props, effects, etc…. completely mind-blowing. The performers are energetic and fun to watch, costuming is perfect and the interpretations of the music are spot on! I kept sitting back wondering, who dreams this stuff up? I mean the choreography, the tech effects, just every visual and coordinating it all…it’s quite the production.

The featured performers are all fantastic…SOOOO flexible, precise and entertaining: aerialists, tap dancers, breakers, musicians, gymnasts, and so much more!! There’s this one pole dancer who mesmerized me with her strength, balance and grace… a pair of elephants that reminded me of Chinese dragon dancers also stand out, as I think about my favorite moments in the show. If you have a chance to see this show on tour…don’t miss it!!!
