LUV-A-BULL Proposal

I kept seeing this video pop up on my social media feeds, but I had yet to click the play button, until tonight! This was probably one of the best “clicks” I ever made…watching this Luvabull (NBA Chicago Bulls dancer), be proposed to on the court during a performance, has to be one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen. I was moved to tears!!!

And while it’s been a minute since my NBA/NFL dancing days, I can only imagine how insanely intense, confusing and surreal that moment must of been for her! Props to her man for getting it done and best of luck to the happy couple! Watch the video of the surprise marriage proposal below…

My Boys!

This is what LOVE looks like! I’m carrying 50 pounds of pure LOVE…my 2 most prized possessions! And — oh yeah, we’re posing with the 3 Miami HEAT NBA Championship Trophies! Never too early to teach them that hard work and dedication will turn you into a WINNER!!! πŸ™‚

RE-HEAT

Congratulations to the Miami HEAT, the 2012-2013 NBA Champions!!! And – congrats to Lebron James for earning the NBA Finals MVP once again!!! Parade time on Monday!!! WOOHOO!!

On another note, wish I could be in Sacramento today to take the stage and perform alongside my fellow King’s Alumni dancers for the “Long Live the King’s” rally…

Miami HEAT :: Harlem Shake

I had to post this…just can’t get enough of this video!!! πŸ™‚ So, this Harlem Shake “craze” has been making the rounds and everyone is getting in on the action with their own version. Well, the Miami HEAT (in my opinion) have made the best video hands down!!! I love that these guys aka millionaires, did the video as a team effort, and it’s so great to see them show off a fun side and be able to laugh at themselves being silly…and make me/others laugh and smile too! πŸ™‚

And — if you couldn’t tell who’s who…here’s a quick rundown:

Some of the mysterious characters in the #HarlemShake video: Horse = Shane Battier, Nacho Libre = Joel Anthony, Kanye Bear = Dwyane Wade, Phantom = Ray Allen, Mime = Rashard Lewis

2012 OLYMPICS

The 2012 Olympics kick off today in London with the opening ceremonies…I will definitely be tuned in. I’m very excited to watch the games, and I feel like I was just in London… πŸ™‚ Actually, I “crossed the pond” last October to watch the NFL game being played there at Wembley, which was a great time. Every 4 years I say I’m going to attend the next Olypmics…I’m missing out on London, but BRAZIL is the summer games next stop, I may really need to make that happen!! hehe

Team USA Basketball is on my MUST SEE list for this years Olympics, always great to see guys from the different NBA teams come together for some international play! Also I read a stat this morning that this year, a record 38 current NBA players will be playing in the summer games, very cool. Spain and Argentina may be the two teams giving the USA the biggest challenge…

As a little girl, I loved watching women’s gymnastics – I think it was the whole “Nadia” story…anyway, gymnastics was my thing in elementary, the nuns would always get mad at me for cartwheeling all around the playground!! Well, this year the USA women are favored for the team GOLD, so I’ll be cheering them on too!!

Track and field events are also always exciting to watch…especially the sprints, hurdles and relays!! Nike will have them sporting these flashy RED numbers. BTW… in 2008, I actually sampled some of the Olympic fashion…you can watch the flashback below –

And — of course I can’t leave out Michael Phelps…all eyes will surely be on him for swimming events as he goes for the gold AND has his sights set on amassing the most Olympic medals EVER! Good luck to him.

NO RAIN on the HEAT PARADE

What a wonderful way to start the week! Today I attended the Miami HEAT victory parade and celebration at the American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami. I’ve heard varying numbers on just how many folks descended along the parade route to be part of history, but supposedly in the HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS!!! Okay, so I didn’t exactly stand along the parade route, but in my “condition” that’s not a good idea right now. I was able to take part in the experience though inside the arena where we watched the parade on the big screen and I partied alongside season ticket holders for the exclusive event! So much FUN..I mean where else can the DJ spin Rick Ross’ “BMF” and the entire arena sings along…and then go into Jackson 5 “I want you back” and the crowd keeps on keepin’ on!?!? LOLΒ  Check out some of my pictures from the “inside…”

OKC is OKAY with me, BUT…

All eyes will be on OKC this evening, well, the eyeballs belonging to NBA fans who are tuned into the 2012 season FINALS that tip off tonight. This is MUST SEE TV peeps!! πŸ™‚ Anyhoo, Oklahoma City isn’t exactly one of those top travel destinations that everyone flocks to..BUT I have actually been there twice and I like OKC. My first time visiting Oklahoma was when I was on ESPN’s Beg, Borrow and Deal, it was pretty much my “team’s” last stop before the other team beat us to the finish line – we were 2 teams racing across the country. The year was 2002, we had ended up by OU, and some friendly fraternity guys (who were ready to head home for the summer), helped us out and somehow we ended up at Mickey Mantle’s restaurant and then some nightclub! LOL

Then, last year I went back to OKC for a work assignment with Chesapeake Energy, the same company who has the naming rights for Arena where the OKC Thunder play…and where the NBA Finals begin tonight versus my “hometown” Miami HEAT! So, all this to say that I like OKC, the city, the team and the company it’s teamed up with, Chesapeake. The segment I did for them was shot on the Chesapeake campus at their state of the art gym…very cool..and the entire company campus has a distinct university feel, on purpose by design. Click play below to see the segment I did at Chesapeake!

And — if you happen to be in OKC for the series, head to the Bricktown area for some eats, I ate at a spot called Crabtown..and yeah, I’ll definitely have to go back one of these days, just to eat crab there!! I also loved downtown’s Hilton Hotel Skirvin, where I stayed. It’s the cutest boutique feeling hotel, and did I mention their grilled cheese!?!? LOL

Now, as random as this post is…even though I kinda sorta really like OKC… I’m going on the record to say this series, these NBA FINALS belong to MIAMI!! Yes, the HEAT will bring it home to the 305!!! πŸ™‚ I’m wishing, hoping & praying to see the championship trophy in South Florida, with a HUGE parade and all the fanfare..BUT SERIOUSLY I FEEL it in my bones!!!! I have no doubt this will be a very competitive, exciting series… filled with drama, so as an NBA fan, thanks in advance. No offense Oklahoma, it’s just not your time, yet…
