Audition Season

Pro Team Cheer and Dance Audition season is in full swing! It used to start in the spring with NFL, but these days it seems like a year round business, with the ultra competitive NFL Cheerleader tryouts, followed by NBA Dance Team auditions, being the highlight of the “season.”

It’s not uncommon for women to train year round to either keep their spot on a squad, or audition for entry onto one of these prestigious organizations! The key to “joining the club” is to be a great performer with the “total” package, and to be successful you’ve got to have all your bases covered. From dance technique, to audition wear, hair and makeup presentation, speaking skills, fitness and more…it takes a LOT of thought and preparation to BE READY. And — the best way to have you game face ready at tryout time is to take prep classes and/or personalized coaching to put your best foot forward! Many of the teams offer workshops to help candidates prepare, and companies like Going Pro Entertainment, also host prep classes to help these ladies put their best foot forward!

Buy My BRA!!!!

***UPDATE*** 04.07.12: The auction has begun…go here to bid now >> :: Aubrey Aquino – Autographed Sports Bra

I recently donated one of my old Oakland Raiderettes sports bras to a very worthy cause…the MZ & Emmers Sports Bra Auction for Breast Cancer Awareness.

“MZ & Emmers” was formed through a friendship between Women’s Professional Soccer star McCall Zerboni (MZ), and now five-year-old Emma Bayer (Emmers) and her parents. We are dedicated to raising awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer, through the empowerment of women’s athletics.

My bra goes up for auction along with several other sports bras from women all across the world of sports beginning April 7, 2012 – I believe it’ll be on ebay. I was able to get involved after the organizer got in touch with Going Pro Entertainment founder and current Ms. United States, Laura Eilers. She’s a former Kansas City Chiefs and Saint Louis Rams Cheerleader.

Laura put the word out for us to send in a piece from our pro cheer days, and I did not hesitate to donate for such a worthy cause!! ๐Ÿ™‚ You can view all the “bras” here —>

And — just because, here’s a picture of me with some of my fellow Going Pro Consultants/NFL Cheer alumni!

2011 Gold Rush Dancer

I am SO HAPPY and PROUD to congratulate one of the newest members of the San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush – RACHEL (#24)! I have been working with Rachel since February, after meeting her during the Miami Pro Dance Convention I coordinated for Going Pro Entertainment. Following that successful event, she enlisted my one on one consultation services to fine tune her dance, flexibility, appearance, interview skills, etc… ALL the details for her to be audition ready! Rachel is a Miami Beach native who decided to head to the Bay Area to pursue both her dance and career goals (she’s an MIT grad – Chemical Engineering). I LOVE success stories and hers is one of pure dedication, commitment and heart to reach her goal. She certainly earned this well-deserved opportunity!! I’ll have to put her on as a “Sideline Distraction: On The Flipside” soon!

MIAMI – Pro Cheer and Dance Workshop

I am often asked and approached by women who are interested in joining the ranks of “pro” cheerleaders and dancers in the NFL and NBA. The problem is there aren’t always a lot of resources around to accurately prepare a candidate for the audition process, not to mention the choreography style, hair/makeup, fitness, attire and the interview process that are also a part of the road to Going Pro!

So, I am excited to announce that I am coordinating a “Miami Pro Dance Convention” for Going Pro Entertainment! The event takes place Sunday, February 27, 2011 at FitSource in North Miami. The are 2 separate sessions, AM and PM…and each has its own unique routines and presenters. I have some amazing choreographers and presenters on deck for the event and I know it’ll be a huge success. The agenda includes NFL and NBA style choreography, informative Q&A, as well as gift bags! ๐Ÿ˜‰
