Flashback Interview: Sean Kingston

My thoughts and prayers are with Sean Kingston and his family, as he remains hospitalized after a weekend jet ski accident in Miami. He’s a sweetheart and I wish him a speedy recovery.

I interviewed him in the summer of ’08, on set while he was shooting a music video… I remember this day because it was a totally last minute assignment, and I wasn’t really “done up” or ready to go, but he was nonetheless so complimentary and sweet while talking to me, just a cute teddy bear!

LEGO

The GRAMMY-nominated trio Stereotypes have just released a new song called “LEGO” that they did both the production and performance on… It’s getting a lot of buzz and I’m def feeling the song too! It seems Jon Street (ah, I recall the Wisemen days..) has gotten the “rap” bug back after his verse on the Stereotypes produced “Girls on the Dance Floor” track for Far East Movement. MC Three joins in on this banger that’s sure to get your butt in the groove!!

If you’re not familiar, get familiar…chances are you’ve already heard and loved a Stereotypes beat. From “Damaged” by Danity Kane to Neyo’s “Why Does She Stay;” “Good Love” Mary J. Blige ft. T.I.; FM’s “Rocketeer” and yes..they’ve made Justin Bieber music to with “Somebody to Love.” And — they’ve been working with Bruno Mars since before he was “Bruno Mars” …need I say more…I’m a fan regardless!! 🙂 BTW…the On The Flipside (show open) theme is a Stereotypes beat too…

Better Day

Hey guys! I have a new music blog to start off this Monday… and it’s all for a good cause. My talented friends The Trackrunners, produced the track “Better Day” and put together the following song/video project. It’s a FREE DOWNLOAD!! Please support and check it out! http://rebuildjapantoday.com

“Better Day” was written as a tribute to the victims of the recent earthquake/tsunami disaster in Japan. It’s simple…we love to make music and we wanted to put that passionate energy towards a positive cause. They say that music is a universal language, which is why we are using our music to connect to the world. We spent countless hours in the studio and put a lot of heartfelt, positive energy into this project in hopes that our music will not only raise awareness around the tragic events, but will motivate people to take action. Each donation, whether big or small, makes a difference. Help to rebuild Japan today. Spread the word. Take action.

Taylor Swift at Sea

I just returned from my first “cruise” experience and it was awesome! First off, I sailed on Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas…its newest and biggest addition to the fleet, I want to say it’s the biggest in the world with sister ship Oasis. There’s a Starbucks on board (I think the first at sea), central park, an ice rink, full court basketball, surfing, and endless amounts of food!  At any rate, very cool, chic and exciting.

Now, this excursion came about as part of a press trip to see singer Taylor Swift perform for the first time ever “at Sea” in a pre-kickoff to her world tour at the ship’s AquaTheater!

I didn’t sail the whole time, instead boarding the ship for the final two days, catching it while docked in Cozumel, Mexico and hitching a ride back to Ft. Lauderdale.

I will say I was very impressed at Miss Swift’s loyal fan base AND how she plays so many different instruments in addition to singing..a true musician! Before seeing her live all I knew was about her recent break up and the MTV “incident’ with Kanye West…. O.o

And, even though I wasn’t familiar with her music, she sings of love and heartbreak, so it’s very relate-able! Also, my baby sis sent me all these links and stuff before I went… to “get familiar!”

Here’s some video of her performance that I captured on my camera…

Good times indeed!

And — One more cool thing…I got to actually meet Taylor during a private meet and greet…man, did I feel SHORT!
