Ladies…ya’ll know the PAIN associated with wearing stilettos and high heels for long periods of time…even though beauty is pain and it really doesn’t matter if the shoe is cute and we can make it fit…but for some of us the term “DISCOMFORT” doesn’t even begin to explain the SUPER BAD feeling! I know for me, years of pounding the balls of my feet through dance and high heels, has resulted in “no pads” left on my soles (just skin and bone), so my shoes tend to expire quickstyle! So I found this “pillows for my feet” injection…and they basically put an injection to restore the “fat” and relieve you of the pain associated with being on your feet and wearing heels! Now…that’s what I’m talking about..I want happy feet, instead of them hating me all night long…
P.S. Don’t you think my outfit in the Bessi Shoe part of the segment sort of makes me look like I’m about to go to the Australian outback! lol And thanks to my sister, Ade, for being my foot model!
I just spent an incredible week and a half with my sisters! Adrienne and Alison aka Ade and Bologna flew out from The Bay to come hang with their favorite “big” sister in the MIA…actually, it was just Ade who planned to do this, but there was no way bologna was going to let us hang without her! lol
So the first night they made it to Miami we stopped by Club BED, then the next morning we hit South Beach to get some Vitamin D on their “pale” exteriors! It was nice to hang out and have my sisters with me…my two best buds! Bologna and I are really twins (mini-me) …I’m just a few years older and a few shades darker! ha
Alison had a laundry list of plans for us, like eating Prime 112, going to the MAC store and Paddle Surfing!
I did a story for Deco last year with Girard and he was happy to give us a lesson on the beach, they loved it!
Then, from Miami we set out to Raleigh, North Carolina to meet up with our baby brother Adam and Dad, for my cousin’s wedding…Viko lives in Australia, but his bride is from N.C….so the Aquino’s descended on Southern Pines!
It was great to see a good portion of my Dad’s family, all but 2 of his siblings made it..and most of my 31 first-cousins from that side of the family were there from all corners of the U.S. and abroad!
I think it was the best wedding they’d seen in those parts in a long time..lots of CELEBRATION and James Taylor songs! From Carolina we left our Dad and brother to hit the Bahamas! My sisters had never been, so a visit to Paradise Island and the Atlantis was a must, I mean how many chances will we be able to spend the time together and vacation, right?
We stayed at the super cool “Cove” and did a deep water interaction with dolphins..I sort of freaked out though when they wanted us to go under water…I’m no good with wearing a snorkel mask and holding my breath and swimming!!
The memories with my sisters are priceless…can’t wait til our next “episode!”
I got my Latin Groove on at the David Barton Gym at the Gansevoort South on Miami Beach… It was really fun and you start sweating QUICK!! In a way I felt like I could do this on Dancing with the Stars…but I also realized gyrating, hip shaking and quick shoulder motions aren’t as easy as it looks! 🙂
I was lucky enough to attend the Grand Opening for the new Italian Village at the Beaches Resort in Turks and Caicos…there were a few stars in the crowd and I got to hang out and talk to them…and enjoy all the resort had to offer too!! It’s an all-inclusive “family” resort, with something for everyone…from Sesame Street to fine dining, waterslides to suite accomodations…good times for sure!!
My latest edition of On The Flipside is online now!! I host this one from the Beaches Resort in Turks and Caicos….check it out!! http://ontheflipsidetv.com
I had to take an “emergency” trip to Phoenix to handle some unexpected repairs at my house, and it turned into a 3-day marathon of home improvements. We’re talking new carpets, painting all the walls and garage door, as well as fixing, replacing and DEEP cleaning of the entire house…among other things!
Thank goodness my friends Reina, Christy and Angie were around to lend their helping hands and keep me sane. Reina even created task lists and kept me focused!
Reina and I also made several Home Depot runs and discovered “Stardust Building Supplies” in Mesa, where you can find things like replacement toilet tank covers (yes, I needed to replace a damaged one)!
I’m so amazed at what we accomplished in just a few days…I guess I should’ve filmed it and turned it into an episode of Extreme Home Makeover or something for HGTV! lol
