Day 2 of my BCS (Social Scene) coverage for Campus Insiders “Ain’t Nothing Like a BCS Party.” On the 2nd day in search of BCS fans from Alabama and Notre Dame, we hit up Ocean Drive and found the epicenter of fun before the big game!
South Beachin’
I spent a nice day at the beach yesterday with some good friends! Now, although I live just a few miles away, I don’t take advantage of it enough…so I made the conscious effort to hit South Beach for some fun in the sun! 🙂
Cat trekked down from Jax to hang and Dara and Alexis joined too…
…then we escorted the bros from Chicago into the ocean – I told them not to worry about sharks! lol
Rene showed up with an umbrella later in the day…and Jevon tried again and again and again to get it to stay in the sand…the thing tried to fly away a good 3-4 times. There must be some special trick to making it stay!

Super Bowl – Miami
WHO DAT!! Another Super Bowl has come and gone and a big CONGRATULATIONS goes out to the New Orleans Saints! Super Bowl XLIV took place in my backyard (aka South Beach), back to back with the Pro Bowl…and as always it’s a time of year when I get to visit with friends who live both near and far! My good friend Gaby came from AZ to hang…and first on the agenda was “Rock the Game” ..well actually, I was working the red carpets at the Seminole Hard Rock’s many events…so she helped me out! 😉
I was up to my usual interviews and this time around had the opportunity to interview many NFL greats of past and present…look for highlights to come On The Flipside!
Then Saturday morning Dontaira invited us to join her for the NFLPA Jazz Brunch alongside the Intracoastal waterway…
….at a FABULOUS Pine Tree mansion!
Then we took a stroll down Ocean Drive as we made our way to the Hennessey Penthouse…and man did the Saints fans dominated the landscape, setting up shop in and around “Fat Tuesday’s” …go figure! It was a WHO DAT party at the Tide studio…lol
Day turned to night and we met up with Dara and Rene to hit up Nikki Beach
Then as Saturday night turned to Super Bowl Sunday, it also became Gaby’s Birthday!
Game time we ventured back to the Henny Penthouse – which was jammin all day/night – and met up with a few more of the girls…
And — to celebrate the Saints win and Gaby’s bday..we hit the town once again, ending up at Dolce, where the Patron doesn’t stop for bday girls! hehe
We also bumped into my and Miami’s fav… DJ Irie!

From James Jones and Michael Beasley singing their version of Usher’s You Got It Bad; to Dwyane Wade and Dorell Wright teaming up for R. Kelly’s I Believe I can Fly; then Daequan Cook doing his rendition of Beyonce’s Single Ladies; and finally a team effort on Boyz II Men’s End of the Road!

The Clevelander
10th and Ocean in SOBE will be rockin’ again! The Clevelander is opening this week and of course I got the FIRST TV tour!! They’ve added a bar on the ground floor by the pool, then a four-story entertainment complex with a 24-hours sports bar, indoor nightclub, and two levels of ocean front rooms and suites! Then there’s 2 rooftop decks and on C-Level there’s this waterfall thing you can sit under to cool off…love it!!
