Watch my sit down interview with Rain, the star of Ninja Assassin! I met him during the movie’s Miami press stop and he is such a nice guy…he even made a comment about what a nice change of pace it is for him to be able to just walk around and not realyl be “recognized”…yet! Apparently he’s a huge international superstar, especially in his native Korea…and my friend Sang (who now lives in Korea) confirmed that, telling me he’s the most popular guy right now in all of Asia! As far as the movie goes, great special effects along with exciting action/fighting sequences!
Anjelah Johnson
Anjelah Johnson is making a hometown appearance in San Jose tomorrow evening, Saturday 11.28.09!! If you are in the BAY and don’t have plans, I’d would STRONGLY suggest you check out her show and make a night of it! She is incredibly talented and beautiful, not to mention funny! I won’t be able to make this show, since I had to take off from the BAY, but I did manage to catch up with her and hang out for a few at Santana Row, while our locations crossed! She is one of my favorite friends and it’s so exciting to see her WINNING with all her hard work, faith and dedication!
You may know her as the ever popular Bon Qui Qui…
…or for her “Nail Salon” skit! Be on the lookout for her as she is quickly rising to the top! Her 1 hour Comedy Central special debuts December 28 and this Christmas, you can catch her starring role in Alvin and the Chipmunks 2! She also has another movie in the pipeline with Forest Whitaker and George Lopez, so don’t sleep on her…go out and watch her live this weekend or when she visits a city near you!! I’ll also have interviews with her On The Flipside and for a new show I’m debuting on the Cheer Channel, so stay tuned!!
LUCKY CHARM!
I’m just returning from a fun-filled week back home in the Bay Area! It was great to see my family and catch up with some friends, making the rounds…I never get to see EVERYONE! However, I did manage to check out my two favorite hometown teams …the Golden State Warriors and the Oakland Raiders!
First up, the Golden State Warriors game, 11.20.09! My good friend CNET star, Brian Tong had an extra ticket and treated me to the Portland game. He took the above “twitpic” and the Warriors have a twitter account that “retweets” pics of fans from the game, so to my surprise this picture got “retweeted!” lol
My hosts for the week, my baby sister Alison and her bf Jono donned their team gear to head to Oracle Arena as well!
I believe the Warriors only had 8 guys suited up…but they won in very convincing fashion and it was GOOD TIMES!
The one thing about Bay fans, is they are loyal…I know it’s tough to stick by and watch when losing is the trend and it gets painful, so I was happy to be in the building for this win!!
Also in attendance, my Raiderette sisters Jeanette and Serrita (who had floor seats), but the lovely ladies came up at halftime to say hi!
Come Sunday 11.22.09…I headed down to the Coliseum to see my Oakland Raiders in action, playing against the visiting Cincinnati Bengals!
My good friend and Raiderette sister Tiaja came out to brave the COLD and enjoy the gametime festivities with me…
And wouldn’t ya know it…RAIDERS took the W in the final seconds when we thought it’d go into overtime!! It was SUPER EXCITNG, everyone was jumping for joy! Tiaja said it felt like we won the Super Bowl! haha BUT basically what I’m trying to say is the BAY WINS and I’m 2 for 2 this season when attending Bay games! 🙂 BTW..LOVED that concessions came around and served Hot Cocoa with whip cream … it was ONLY $5! lol
FREC Awards
Last weekend I served as co-host for the FREC Awards at the Miccosukee Resort, along with Trina Robinson from NBC 6 Miami. The event honors standouts from South Florida who have contributed to the area’s music, film and entertainment industries.
It was a great evening of fun and I was happy to have many of my “girls” attend to support me!
The Welcome Channel
One of my new gigs is hosting and producing segments for The Welcome Channel – Miami & the Beaches. The Welcome Channel is Miami and the Beaches premiere visitor in-room programming. It is currently in 27 (South Florida) hotels – including the Fontainebleau, Westin Diplomat, Loews and Trump International, showing in more than 10,500 rooms. It’s that channel that loops 24 hours a day, 7 days per week to highlight the very best of Miami and the Beaches has to offer when it comes to dining, shopping, entertainment, arts, cultural attractions. My first project was to create programming surrounding 3 of the major sports teams in the area, so HEAT, Dolphins and Marlins. I’ll be continuously contributing new features for The Welcome Channel…so make sure to tune in!
