Gear Up and Represent Bay Area Sports

Fall is here and the NFL football season is in full swing, MLB playoffs are upon us and another NBA season is just around the corner. So if you’re looking to get some gear that’s not your typical “sports” t-shirts and sayings, check out www.tonypsd.bigcartel.com

I’m working with Tony on some new graphics for my newest passion project – look out for that, but in the meantime I wanted to share some of his fun designs reppin’ the Bay! πŸ™‚ I know Oakland A’s fans (old and new) need some fresh gear for the playoffs & SF Giants fans represent for the Sucka Free regardless.

And — some examples of the designs for the Raider Nation and 49er Faithful…

Let’s not forget the Golden State Warriors who are poised for another incredible season or the San Jose Sharks!!

Alright, alright…be sure to check it out!! www.tonypsd.bigcartel.com

BABY SPRINKLE

Yesterday I was BLESSED to be the recipient of a BABY SPRINKLE! What is a “sprinkle” you ask? Well, it’s a celebration to help Mom welcome baby #2 or #3 and so on. Basically you’re not showering the Mother with gifts, but rather sprinkling her with a few items!!! So, since I am having my second child, I already have many baby items and wasn’t anticipating any “hoopla” to accompany the impending arrival of baby #2…however my dear friend Constance aka “The Crafty Reporter,” insisted that we needed to celebrate!

Well, I was just so flattered and she really went all out to make this intimate gathering of my Miami “family” really special — I am SO THANKFUL! She crafted lots of handmade cuteness with the dessert table and decor….I am SO IN LOVE with her crocheted crowns for my “Little Prince.” If you want to see some of her other yarn by design creations you can visit her website for Huggabeans. She is so good at making the most adorable baby hats, blankets, etc… πŸ™‚

Every touch, from the printed menu’s, goodie bags, color scheme, fancy treats and all the extra attention to detail, really show and the sprinkle was nothing short of FABULOUS! Take a look at these photos of the “spread!”

Β

And — of course I can’t forget the lovely women who attended the sprinkle…THANK YOU for coming and sprinkling me and baby #2 with LOVE!!

FYI — The venue for my Sprinkle was City Hall the Restaurant in downtown Miami…and the food was extra YUMMY!

Now it’s countdown time til my “Little Prince” arrives!

Fruitvale Station

Fruitvale Station was a big winner at this year’s Sundance Festival and the movie is based on the real life story of Oscar Grant — whose life tragically ended at the hands of a BART police officer. His shooting death made headlines in the Bay Area and beyond…and now it’s headed for the big screen. The film’s first theatrical trailer has just been released and I personally can’t wait to see it… Fruitvale Station is also produced by the multi-talented Forest Whitaker. Uhm, did I mention my Raiderette sister Lucena also plays the role of “Rose” in the film. Press play to watch the trailer below…

OTF: Gallery 85

The San Francisco 49ers Vernon Davis recently celebrated the Grand Opening of his very own Gallery 85 art gallery at Santana Row in San Jose. On the Flipside, in association with Bay Tiger Productions, was there for exclusive coverage of the star-studded event! Press play for some of the red carpet highlights!! Take Me Out To The Ball Game

I took in a ball game Friday night at (Miami) Marlins Park! The facility is brand new this year, and it’s a really cool place to watch a game and escape the South Florida “elements.” It has a retractable roof, which has been closed every time I’ve watched a game there so far, but even when it’s closed, it still has an outdoorsy feel.

marlins1

This last game the Phillies were visiting the Marlins and we had really awesome seats behind home plate! Now, I’ve never been a baseball/MLB fan, but having been to a few games at this new park and consciously trying to focus on the game, I think I’m actually getting into it! I’m learning who the players are, about strategy, understanding the rules and stats better… πŸ™‚

fish

Anyway, another one of my favorite features/details at this new park is the aquarium, well huge fish tank they have, that sits on the ground, wrapping around home plate! Next time you watch a game, when they show a shot of the guy at bat, look past him to the tank! Don’t mind the shoe in this photo either…get beyond it! haha

marlins2

Finally, they have this huge sculpture “thing” that sits in the back of the park, which apparently will light up and move around when the Marlins hit a home run…Β  When you see it, you’re kinda like WTH is that!?!? Now, I’m just waiting for someone to hit a home run when I’m there so I can see all of it’s fancy bells and whistles go off!! haha As you can see in the photo, the park also has it’s very own “Clevelander,” so South Beach, so Miami…and from what I hear tons of fun! If you go, don’t forget your 2-piece, they’ve got a pool in there where you can take a dip AND still get a great view of the game.
