My newest episode of On The Flipside is fresh off a Final Cut render! I’ve spent pretty much all of August in Austin, TX, so why not shoot an episode there as my “backdrop” location!!? For this edition I changed up the graphics a little and had to do subtitles… See the highlights from Nike and Converse’s (inaugural) World Basketball Festival in NYC. Jay-Z performed at Radio City Music Hall, LeBron James hosted kids in Harlem, USA Basketball had an exhibition and NBA players from France, China, Brazil and Puerto Rico all chimed in, in their native language…hence the subtitles! Then we’ve got Matt Barnes doing his annual camp at EA Sports, Golden State Warriors Rookie Ekpe Udoh and CGL Sports Yacht Celebration in Miami, plus a behind the scenes look at the Jacksonville photo shoot for Sweethearts for Soldiers! http://ontheflipsidetv.com/austin/
Here’s another “throwback” video from February 2008. Check out my interview and demo with “Weavin’ Steve” … one of the best in the “weave” game!” He has all sorts of extremely creative “Fantasy Hair Designs,” including a “hair-icopter” – yes, it flies… and he even gets me in one of his exclusive looks! Watch the video…
He gave me more of a “patriotic” look! It is ALL made out of hair!
I spent a big part of today looking at my calendar for the next month or so and thought about the bachelorette parties and weddings I am set to attend before 2010 is a wrap… So, for today’s throwback video of the week, I decided to post a bachelorette party I covered for Deco Drive…that took place at Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour! In this very unique girlie bash for my dear friend Arlyn took place more than 2 years ago and it was a night to remember!! I can’t tell you what happened after the camera stopped rolling, but it was lots of good times!! Take a peek…
And here’s a bonus – some of my favorite pictures from that weekend, circa June 2008!
The good folks at PNOY Apparel have developed and are releasing a very special jacket called “The Veterano.” I applaud their dedication and commitment to not only educate, pay tribute and honor the heroes of our (Filipino) heritage, but they also give back! Bravo… Both my grandfathers were among the 250,000 Philippine soldiers who marched and fought alongside the Americans against the Japanese during WWII, so although gone, they are not forgotten.
The Veterano jacket by PNOY Apparel is honoring the 250,000 Filipino American veterans who fought side by side their American counterparts without compensation or recognition. ONLY after almost 70 years, the Stimulus Plan hands out $15K to those who became U.S. Citizens and $9K to non-citizens veterans for their duty, a small reward for a life’s worth.
PNOY Apparel wants to help with proceeds of The Veterano to be donated to JFAV (Justice for Filipino American Veterans) to help our dying heroes.

This week’s throwback was one of my very first segments I put together for Deco Drive! I profiled a group of gals who specialize in Vintage and 40’s style Pin Up photography, makeup, styling, etc… and they did a transformation on me too!
It was SO MUCH fun and I even got some very cute shots out of it!!
Recently I’ve been looking over my work from past years, and I decided that I’m going to start posting “throwback” clips every Friday, of some of my favorite stories and memorable interviews! To kick off this “series” I’ve decided to go back to August 2007 for the Rush Hour 3 (Miami Beach) Red Carpet Premiere, when I interviewed Brett Ratner LIVE on Deco Drive! He invited me to the after party, the after after party and earlier in the day he had said he’d put me in Rush Hour 4….I’m still waiting to be cast – if the 4th installment ever comes to fruition – but at least I have him on tape committing to me! ha
I did attend the “after” party at Forge, but not the after, AFTER party! Here’s a couple shots from the red carpet!
