My sister the set designer…

Check out this cool music video my sister helped do the “set design” for…

Adrienne says, “It was a lot of fun…shot in still frames. I made the “Southern Comfort” bottle, lemonade stand, light bulb, and sun to name a few.” You can learn more about my talented sister and see some of her design work at http://adrienneaquino.com

Bulldozer – The Invisible Cities (Official Music Video)

(Director: Melissa Hung. Director of Photography: Seng Chen)
A toy bulldozer with an affinity for whiskey and records heads out for a day at the beach with friends only to find it closed. Oh no! What to do?!

QUINCE aka 15

The 15th and newest episode of On The Flipside is LIVE and ONLINE!! This time around I’m at Jack London Square in Oakland and we’re talking Air Jordan 2010 with Michael Jordan and Dwyane Wade, music with The Trackrunners, Rei Tracks and Whiz Almighty, the Bay Area team who put together Manny Pacquiao’s “Pound for Pound!” This show also features my sit down interview with Rain, the Ninja Assassin, and a sexy look at the Bova Panthers Ice Dancers swimsuit calendar reveal show at the Seminole Hard Rock! See all the action at http://ontheflipsidetv.com

Vampire Trend

I definitely started to notice a new found popularity for all things “Vampire” when it comes to movies and TV shows… Last year my friend Margie hyped up Twilight so much, and took me to see it in the theater…I felt it left a lot to be desired and everyone said, you have to read the book! Anyway, the next film in the series “New Moon” is due to be out soon and HBO’s “True Blood” is a BIG hit (everyone around me keeps raving about it, I don’t have HBO! lol) and CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” seems to be doing well too…so I thought I’m going to find a local South Florida tie-in and do a Vampire Trend story..It took me a little longer than usual to find my interview “subjects”…from a Cabaret Vampyra to a Cosmetic Dentist who can give you “vampire canines” … check it out!

MIA Biscayne

Check out my feature story on a brand new lounge/resto in downtown Miami. This place is very cool and the foods not bad either! It has a nice VIP, lounge and cool effects like an interactive wall and bar that respond to movement and touch! The only other place they have this technology are in the U.K. and Singapore…pretty chic, eh? I’ll also be hosting an event here for Title beverage next Friday the 18th…but either way, I like this spot..and it’s just down the street from my place!

Aquabilt Water Workout

I hear working out in the water can be very god for you, especially if you have joint issues, are trying to rehab or just need a good gimmick to exercise! Anyway, I heard about the Aquabilt…an underwater treadmill that you can just stick in your pool, so I tested it out and I actually liked it..it’s not hard at all and I love that you can go at your own pace. You see, my problem at the gym is that when I’m on the treadmill, I always feel like I have to “keep up” with whatever speed I put it at *AND* I’m constantly staring at the time and distance! At least with Aquabilt it’s refreshing to be in the pool and not feel the pressure to “keep up!”

Cabanas

These days if you’re gonna lounge at a swank hotel pool..you’ve gotta have a cabana…so I checked out a couple cabana hot spots in MIA…at the Fontainebleau and Cabana One!

However, my personal favorite cabanas are in the Bahamas at Cain (Cove Atlantis)…see pictures above..they’re more like little cottages with a front and back “yard,” plus loungers, bathroom, shower, etc…  One side opens up to the beach and the other to the ultra pool! I guess that’s why they call it paradise.

Happenstance Designs

My baby sister Alison aka bologna popped up on a blog in this “bridal” look…she’s SO CUTE!! It’s sort of weird to see my kid sister in this setting, but she’s helping out her friend Clarice who does these great wedding-themed creations as seen on her site Happenstance Designs! Congrats to bologna and Clarice…great work ladies!!

Ki-Hara

Check out this workout! It’s called Ki-Hara resistance training… Basically you are strapped down to a board while a trainer will stretch you out and you resist. It’s a true worout that works flexibility, strength and helps your core too. FYI…that was REAL pain for me…I’m terrible at stretching and I think the trainer was really trying to giv eme a proper workout! ha
